Please notify me at least 24 hrs or more prior to your appointment if you would like to cancel or reschedule. Cancelling less than 24hrs before an appointment, you the owner will be charged a $35 late cancellation fee towards your next appointment. Both the grooming fee and cancellation fee must be pre-paid prior to the start of your next groom appointment. In the case of a family emergency or due to weather conditions the fee maybe waived. If an appointment is cancelled on a constant basis (less than 24hrs) the fee will not be waived.
I have the right to decline future appointments for clients who fail to show up 2 times in a calendar year without adequate prior notice. The client will be charged 100% of the groom fee. The missed appointment groom fee plus the next appointment grooming fee must be paid in full prior to the start of the next appointment.
Please arrive as close to your appointment time as possible. Arriving 15 minutes late or more may result in a No-Show fee (100% of grooming fee will be charged) OR a late fee of $10 will be applied on top of your groom fee if Martha can still accommodate you.
A call or text is sent out to you 15 to 20 minutes before the appointment is complete. Please arrive to pick up your dog(s) on time so I can clean adequately before the next groom. I can’t guarantee a projected time estimate, it depends on the breed, time it takes, overall health, the state of their coat and behaviour. I take my time to make every dog feel comfortable and give them all lots of love and attention. If you decide to come early and your dog isn’t finished you will still be charged 100% of the groom fee.
Any dog that is INFESTED with parasites will be turned away. Please reschedule your appointment and treat at home or at the vet. It is the owners duty to make sure the dog is free of parasites before coming to their appointment to avoid paying 100% of groom fee for services missed. If I find parasites mid groom, a flea and tick bath is mandatory to kill the parasites and to prevent a home and grooming workspace infestation. An additional cost of $30 will be added on top of the grooming fee for the flea funeral and heavy clean up.
I do not groom aggressive dogs. In the event of aggression during the groom, muzzles may be used on your dog for the safety of the dog and the groomer. A “Handling Fee’ may be applied in addition to the regular grooming charge for difficult to groom dogs. If your dog becomes too dangerous to groom, I have the right to refuse services, stop grooming at any time during the groom. The dog’s owner is still responsible for any fees associated for the time attempted to groom your dog.
I do not provide full de matting services on moderate to severely matted dogs. De-matting a dog can be very painful for your dog and expensive. If your dog is severely matted, the best things to do is to shave them down to regrow a healthy coat. I always prioritizes humanity over vanity when it come to a matted dog. Once the coat is removed, the skin can be red due to the lack of air circulation and dirt that has accumulated underneath. Occasionally there are open sores, bruising, fungus, hematomas, and other infections, this may need veterinary treatment. Dogs tend to scratch and rub their skin after shaving – this is normal, however some can over scratch and this may lead to broken skin. If in doubt speak to your vet. The grooming girl is not responsible for any veterinary bills associated with the groom and the de-matting procedure.
