Once your dog comes for their groom they will be with me from the time they walk in to the time they leave to go home with you. I am the only person grooming your dog. This allows me to form a special relationship with your dog.
I limit the number of dogs I groom in a day (typically 2 to 4 dogs) and never rush.
I space out appointments to ensure your dog is comfortable and groomed safely.
The health, safety and comfort of your dog will always come first. I will always do what is best for your dog. No dog will ever be put through pain and suffering for a specific haircut if your dog is matted or does not like to be groomed.
During every groom, dogs will be looked over in detail from nose to tail identifying any health concerns like skin infections, allergies, rashes, sores, ear issues, lumps/bumps, etc which enables an early detection of any potential health issues.
All dogs will be hand blow dried using a high velocity dog dryer. If your dog is sensitive, a hair dryer on a warm low setting will be used. Your dog will never be dried in a cage.
All dog grooming services are by appointment only. No dog will ever be waiting in a cage. If you have more than one dog, they will be able to roam free in my small groom room and relax on the floor while they wait for their sibling.
I use only the highest quality grooming products to ensure your dog looks and feels their best. All products are non toxic, pH balanced and safe for your furry baby.
No other dog around just me and your dog from beginning to end. No loud noises except when drying your dog. Sometimes quiet music maybe playing in the background.
After your dog has been groomed. All tools, equipment, bathtub and groom space will be adequately cleaned and disinfected in preparation of the next groom.
Dog grooming prices vary and no two dogs of the same breed will be priced the same. Pricing depends on the time it takes, breed, size of dog (not weight), coat condition and temperament. Pricing over the phone and in person before a groom starts are only estimates. Price may change after the groom. Extra handling fee, de-mat fees or shave down fees are not included and maybe added at the end of a groom. Price increases can occur without notice.

4. Dogs that have been sprayed by a skunk. Please treat right away at home.

Safety is my #1 priority, whether the dog is young, old or has physical disabilities I can safely lift and handle dogs up to 60 pounds maximum without injuring myself or your dog.
No cats.
A full groom can take anywhere from 1.5 to 4hrs. It can take longer in some cases depending on severity of coat condition and behaviour of dog.
No house calls.
No, I groom dogs in my own home.
I will never sedate any dog. I teach your dog to co-operate in the grooming process by using gentle handling techniques, compassion and lots of patience. When they are cooperating I give your dog a treat, so they know that they are doing something right.
If your dog becomes too dangerous to groom, I have the right to refuse services, stop grooming at any time during the groom. The dog’s owner is still responsible for any fees associated for the time attempted to groom your dog.
If your dog does come sedated, please let me know.
No, your presence becomes distracting your dog will be excited and less likely to listen to the groomer when you're here. This dramatically increases the chances of accidental injury to the dog and or groomer and will take far longer to groom your dog.
I recommend once every 4 weeks and no longer then 6 weeks to prevent overgrown nails. If the dog's nails are overgrown. Dogs should come once every 2 weeks to cut them back little by little, this can take sometimes 1 or 2 months until they are at a shorter length.
Dogs with overgrown nails can get nail tears, cause posture issues, walking issues and deformities. It can be very painful.
I take puppies as young as 8 weeks old to introduce them to grooming so they get use to being handled by a stranger in this case "the groomer" other than yourself.
They become aware of the different sounds, tools and equipment I use. If your puppy is a short, flat coated dog that will never need a haircut in their whole life its still beneficial to have them groomed so they are use to it.
I recommend both short and long haired dogs to come once a month until they are comfortable with the grooming process. Then having your dog on a 6 to 8 weeks schedule, with regular brushing at home between grooms.
Haircuts on a puppy are only introduced when a puppy is comfortable with clippers. I will never force a dog in getting a haircut.
Grooming should be a positive experience for your pup, not a negative one. Grooming a dog at an early age and sticking to a schedule will help your dog become comfortable during future grooms.
Responsible breeders should be letting you know that bringing your puppy in for a groom at a young age between 8 to 12 weeks old and ideally before 16 weeks old is essential to get them used to the grooming process. Waiting longer can make dogs less receptive to grooming, potentially leading to a more stressful experience later, and can also increase the risk of matting, which can be painful and require painful shaving to remove especially in breeds with thick coats.
Expression of anal gland is a medical procedure, it should be done by your vet. I don't do it because if I express them wrong they can either rupture or cause an infection. So it's better to get them done by a professional. Not all dogs need their anal glands expressed, most do this naturally. Only dogs who have trouble with expressing their anal glands should get them expressed by a vet.
I'm open Monday to Saturday, closed Sundays. My hours vary on a day to day basis, but I usually start at 9am in the morning. I schedule 2 to 4 dogs a day. Most dogs have a 45mins to 3.5hrs grooming appointment slot. In between grooms I adequately clean my tools, equipment and space in time for the next groom.
Sometimes I work on holidays (such as Family day, Canada day, labour day, civic holiday) and when I do I usually post it in advance on my website or facebook page.
Cash & e-transfer. E-transfers must be done before picking up your dog as sometimes e-transfers can take longer to go through than expected.
